In late 2022 i was able to interview "Miami" and other Western fighters around the Bucha area of Ukraine. This is one of the very first interviews i conducted popping my war journalist cherry of sorts. Miami and Ryan ( who later would become the commander of Chosen Company ) would drive us to the very same spot they laid an ambush for RU forces.
“Between March March 10 and March 16 we’re out here for longer period of time. We are posted up at the lodge and the day before the SBU sniper were with us, and they came out here to place anti tank mines and came out to the tree line to use a Nlaw to hit a tank. There’s actually a video online of them doing that, and then the next day we came out with them.
They said that there was a a lot of technicals and we actually had a drone fly up and with the drone we found out this was at HQ with a communications truck and that was part of our job was actually knocking out communications in territory.
So our mission was to come out to this tree line out here, we had Mark 19 and we decided to use the tree line for when the snipers would come in to shoot. Once we heard their shots go off at eight in the morning then we’re going to start shooting the Mark 19 to target the BTR in this position here and there hit the communications truck in the HQ.
Unfortunately we weren’t successful in hitting this, BTR and the HQ once we finish shooting we retreated back in to the forest and once we hit the forest we were hit by the BTR with explosive rounds. I think that mission lasted for around eight hours so we sat in the forest from 3 AM until 8 AM and after that they called in jets and attack helicopters and we ended up in a forest for another thing 6-7 hours waiting it out.
So pretty good day.
Made it out alive.
