“We spent days marking out a path through the minefield”
We pushed out RU forces due to burning of their forest positions.
It was only partly successful as initially we, or I planned to initiated the first ambush with a rocket from within 25M of the target. After that we would go up, grab any documents & ID we could gind, set up a secondary remote device then pull back 50m and once QRF came we would initiate a second ambush on the QRF by initiating a AP explosive.
After the second ambush we were going to pull back to a third area that we had set OZM mines up to initiate a possible last ambush if needed and likely an extremely lethal one due to the OZMs. The fact that if RU forces had decided to follow us they’d of walked into their own minefield and likely wouldn’t have realized it until to late (we marked the path in neon paint to draw attention)
We also deployed AT mines in well traveled tracked areas where armor and troop transports would pull into the forest at.
The ambush site was literally 500-600m between two Russian road checkpoints/OPs and within 1000m of a main base of operations.
I moved forward onto the road, putting down a RPG rocket as a decoy. Then I pulled back 10m and laid in a ditch. It was a shit position for concealment but was the best for being able to initiate the ambush in our target zone, verify that the target was military (if it wasnt military and a random curious civilian i would have detained and pulled the non military people into the woods unharmed and waited for the next vehicle) and if need be get the guys directed and moved forward on line if things kicked off.
The MoD Lada was the next vehicle down the road. They saw the rpg and slammed on the brakes. I waited for the passenger to open the door to verify he was wearing military uniform. Once I verified he was wearing multicam I reached for the AT4 I had but he saw me reach for it so I grabbed my AK, stood up and basically mag dumped center mass on single fire. “
